Bags of Summer

muzumgu sisters_Sicilian Basket II Multi-1This summer’s “It Bags” are made of materials traditionally saved for the sand (straw, bamboo and the like). Once solely beach necessities, these styles have transitioned to everyday carryalls thanks to a slew of brands taking them into seriously versatile—and fabulous—territory. From geometric-shaped purses and pom pom- and tassel-adorned totes to options customized with initials, the trend can be found in every form, shape and shade this season.

“I love a solid straw bag with a print,” says celebrity stylist Kris Zero of the season’s most-coveted accessories. “If it’s a dressier look, go with a smaller straw bag. Jane Birkin rocked one with everything, and it worked around the clock. Large ones feel more boho and look great with flowy dresses,” Zero says. Make sure you’re prepared for summer with one of these sophisticated-meets-whimsical styles.
