Dive Time

It took about three years for Swiss luxury watchmaker, Omega, to conceptualize and create the Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black four-piece collection. The first Deep Black models, which pair a Greenwich Mean Time model with a diving watch, arrived at Omega stores in October of 2016. Inspired by the Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon, which was made from a block of black zirconium oxide ceramic, the Deep Black is, in essence, the next level. While Dark Side pushed the boundaries of ceramic watchmaking, Deep Black took the design further and embraces the company’s most innovative watchmaking technology and materials.

Executed to perfection by the seasoned brand, the Deep Black watch is crafted from a single block of black ceramic and features a bezel that offers a cutting-edge combination of ceramic, Liquidmetal and rubber. Certified as a Master Chronometer by the Federal Institute of Metrology, the timepiece has been tested at the industry’s highest level. Other Deep Black highlights include a 60-bar (nearly 2,000-foot) water resistance level, 60-hour power reserve, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal dome with a dual-sided anti-reflective treatment.

Experience the Deep Black collection, which comes in red, blue, black and 18-karat Sedna gold, for yourself. You’ll be glad you took the plunge.
