Champagne and Light Bites, Aloha Style

 

veuveAn effervescing flute of fine Champagne, a calm sea breeze, a setting sun with nothing but ocean before it—it’s the scene you might dream of while planning your next trip to Hawaii, and luckily the experience has been made all the more possible thanks to the opening of Champagne Hale at Cliff House, a pop-up bar and lounge for guests and locals to enjoy the finest Maui sunsets throughout the summer at Montage Kapalua Bay.

Starting June 29 and running through September 3, the Cliff House venue—a tucked away marvel set atop an ocean bluff with waves musically crashing below—will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind pop-up Champagne Hale (with “hale” being the Hawaiian word for house or home) with delectable light bites and, of course, an ample supply of Champagnes featuring Veuve Clicquot.

Named Champagne Hale at Cliff House, the exciting limited time venue is one in a series of Clicquot Destinations, which also include the popular Après Lounge & Beach Club at Montage Deer Valley. Surrounded by the Pacific, the stunning locale in Maui is a perfect match for the unparalleled aperitif.

Champagnes featured include Veuve Clicquot Rich, a unique offering from the house available for the first time in the islands, inspired by mixology and best enjoyed over ice with fresh ingredients like pineapple and citrus. Additionally, Veuve Clicquot’s signature Yellow Label, Rosé and La Grande Dame will also be available by the glass and in a special “sunset tasting flight”.

Visitors to the Champagne Hale will also be able to enjoy a curated menu of perfectly paired fare. Montage Kapalua Bay’s Executive Chef David Viviano’s innovative food menu for the Champagne Hale consists of Osetra Caviar with Moloka’i sweet and Yukon gold potato, gaufrettes, crème fraiche and chive; classic Tuna Poke with limu, soy, ginger, avocado, ocean salad and taro chips; Surfing Goat Cheese & Kula Strawberries with local honey and grilled baguette; Oysters on the Half Shell with Champagne mignonette and calamansi; and Tropical Fruits including Maui pineapple, Moloka’i papaya, local mango and li hing mui.

With the addition of the Champagne Hale at Cliff House this summer, island living at Montage Kapalua Bay gets a scintillating twist.
