For spring and summer, Montage Laguna Beach bartenders are taking their cues from around the world with these delicious cocktail recipes.


 

Cinque Stelle

At the Lobby Lounge at Montage Laguna Beach, splurge on the $1,000 Cinque Stelle Cocktail, which includes a Speyside single malt Scotch whiskey from the Balvenie distillery in Dufftown Scotland combined with the newest version (the first in 500 years) of the Italian Amaretto Disaronno Riserva.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Balvenie 40 yr
1 oz Disaronno Riserva Amaretto

Method:
In a cut crystal double rocks glass, place a hand chipped large cube of ice, add measured liquors and stir gently.

 

Mendoza Mojito

At the Loft at Montage Laguna Beach, the Argentinian style Mendoza Mojito tastes as good as it looks.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Bacardi Silver Rum
3/4 oz lime
1 oz simple
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz malbec
Splash club soda
Sprig mint
Shichimi togarashi

Method:
In a mixing tin with ice, add rum, lime, simple, mint and pineapple. Shake vigorously and add soda. Strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass rimmed with shichimi togarashi. Add malbec over the top.

 

European Vacation
Studio, Montage Laguna Beach

Order the European Vacation at Studio at Montage Laguna Beach which mixes gin from the remote Scottish Isle of Islay with a famed French aperitif, an Italian lemon liquer and an aperitif wine produced by Giulio Cocchi Spumanti in the Asti province of Italy.

Ingredients:
2 oz Botanist Gin
3/4  oz Suze
1/2 oz limoncello
1/2  oz Cocchi Americano
2 dashes orange Bitters
Lemon essence
Candied lemon peel

Method:
In a mixing glass with ice, add all ingredients and stir for 20 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice, express lemon oil over the top and garnish with the candied lemon peel.
