The city of Healdsburg has always marched to its own beat. While Napa and St. Helena have attracted devotees and admirers for decades, Healdsburg has retained its own independent spirit in California’s wine country. The artistic enclave in Sonoma Valley, just north of San Francisco, also has an incredible culinary scene, making it the ideal setting for the new Montage Healdsburg.
Opening in 2020, Montage Healdsburg reflects the region’s viticultural roots. The luxury resort is set on a vineyard bordering the Jordan Estate vineyards, and the hotel, Spa Montage, four signature restaurants, and zero-edge pool are designed to work with the natural landscape. The planned 130 contemporary bungalow-style guest rooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor space. Montage residents will choose from select custom homesites that claim some of the most impressive views on the property. All signature Montage amenities will be offered to residents.
A wine collaboration with renowned vintner Jesse Katz is also in the works. Katz will assist in producing wines on-site, which will be served in the hotel and restaurants. With heritage oak trees and pure golden light, the 258-acre luxury property will capture all the hallmarks of a Northern California escape: an exciting food culture (the Michelin three-star restaurant Single Thread is just down the road), a host of wineries, and natural scenery that rewards ambling or serious mountain biking. Stay tuned for more Montage Healdsburg details.
